“It started as a cathartic social media post last week – but now Sydni Lane is becoming a face and voice for healthcare workers in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Mercy Cedar Rapids trauma nurse shared a picture and caption after her shift on March 30 that started, “I broke down and cried today. I cried of exhaustion, of defeat. Because after 4 years of being an ER nurse, I suddenly feel like I know nothing.” It now has more than one million likes on Instagram – where Syndi says her number of followers has gone from around 2,000 to almost 50,000 in less than a week. The Facebook version of the post has been shared more than 23,000 times.”
